The Response of Joy
Luke 2:15-20 – Shepherds go, see, and rejoice
We live in a world that is hard and dark. Fear abounds in every part of the globe. But God has broken through that darkness to bring us from fear to joy. God has come down to us in love through His son. He has reached us when we could not, and would not, reach Him.
The shepherds were not out seeking God, they were going about their business when God broke into their lives with the Angels. The news was great. The gift of God is great. God has kept His promise to save his people. Salvation from sin and death. What is the shepherds response? Joy! They rejoice and tell the whole world of the gift of God!
When we come to see this deep love of God it brings joy to our hearts. Our lives are changed. Like the shepherds, we can rejoice in God’s provision and love.
